When you become an apprentice, there is an arrow near the dens to go unting, but, there is another one just like it on top of the dens, after a little bit, when you press it you will go to a clearing and a white and black cat will be there, press on him and he will ask if you want to be a kittypet, if you say yes, i think you will become one

to get to him, go in the warriors den and click / press the 2 paw prints at the bottom of the screen in the middle.
